New Year, Same Dream!

Ever since I was little, there is one thing I’ve always been passionate about; a certain something that’s always seemed to work well with my personality and who I was molded to be. That certain something happens to be…. acting! To me, acting is not pretending; acting is portraying real emotions. The best actors are the ones who are able to reach into their own past and use their experiences to relate to their characters. As Johnny Depp says, “With any part you play, there is a certain amount of yourself in it. There has to be, otherwise it’s just not acting. It’s lying.”

Acting is about being vulnerable, breaking down your walls, embracing your insecurities and your strengths, and letting the world see inside who you are.

So what better way to start out the new year than with an audition! I’m grateful for a fantastic agency right here in Ohio that allows me to do what I love! I look forward to exploring new acting techniques and building my resume this year. I’ve had some of the best times working with some of the best people- learning and laughing through a long 12-hour day on set, sharing our common hopes and dreams, and cheering one another on. There’s no doubt I’ve felt the ups and downs of pursing an acting career, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

So here’s my piece of advice to all you big dreamers out there- figure out what you love, figure out what you’re good at, and figure out a way to make it happen. Don’t let people talk you out of it because it seems too impossible and don’t let people bring you down because they can’t see your vision. Stay positive, give it your all, and never stop pushing!
