Think just one person can’t make a difference?
A few years ago a mother with a type 1 diabetic son had the idea to raise money for The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by hosting a raffle through local soccer team and community participation.
In no time at all, Dayton Kicks for a Cure was born. The site has become a place for teams to register and work together to find a cure for type 1 diabetes while bringing in big donations.
The first year, Dayton Kicks for a Cure raised $7500. The second year, they matched their first year donations with another $7500. This year, the turnout is expected to draw even more community participation and even larger donations.
